Preparation - Prostate Ultrasound and Biopsy
- Discontinue usage of aspirin or anticoagulants for one (1) week prior to the exam.
- Take antibiotics as directed: Floxin or Cipro -- take one (1) pill in the morning and one (1) pill in the evening the day before, the day of, and the day after your exam. If you are taking Levaquin, take (1) pill the day before, the day of and the day after your exam.
- Fleets enema two (2) hours prior to the time of the exam.
ATTENTION: The preparation is vital to ensure a proper exam. Please be advised that the ultrasound exam and biopsy will have to be RESCHEDULED upon failure to complete the entire preparation.
