TUNA Therapy Pre-Procedure Patient Instructions
Pre-op Medications:
- Sedation: Valium
- Get this prescription filled at your local pharmacy. Take the prescription home with you and store it in a safe place. On the day of your TUNA procedure do not take this medication at your home, but bring this prescription to the office with you. You will be asked to take this medication once you arrive at the doctor's office. If you forget to bring it with you, you may need to reschedule your TUNA procedure.
- Antibiotic and Anti-inflammatory: You will receive them in the office.
Day of the procedure:
- Take all of your regularly prescribed medication as directed by your urologist.
- Bring your pre-procedure sedation medication with you to the office.
- Food should be eaten on the day of the procedure as instructed by your urologist.
- Please arrange transportation to and from the doctor's office.
- Please shower the morning of your procedure and wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes.
- Decrease or eliminate your alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco 48 hours prior to procedure.
- You may bring books, magazines or headsets with tapes to the doctor's office.
